Professional Fees and Insurance
Medical insurance will cover some, but at times not all dermatology medical costs. Co-payments, deductibles, and other non-covered expenses are the responsibility of the patient at the time of service. In certain circumstances, your insurance company may determine that some of our services are cosmetic and not covered. In this case, all charges are the responsibility of the patient.
Dermatology Associates participates with most regional insurers and PPO's. Please refer to your provider directory to confirm our participation. Because we are a specialist, a referral may be required prior to seeing our physicians. As a convenience to our patients, we will electronically file claims whenever possible.
If you do not have insurance or have an insurance that we do not participate with, it is our policy to provide you with a receipt that contains all the information needed by your insurance company or as a personal receipt for services rendered. It must be understood, however, that financial responsibility for services rendered to a patient rests with the patient.
